Since it’s founding in 1998 the University Of Hargeisa has worked to cultivate skill in academia, it has produced high performing entrepreneurs, soldiers, presidents, ministers, doctors, architects, lawyers, humanitarian workers, economists, mathematicians, teachers.

The University Of Hargeisa has always represented a beacon of hope for the Republic Of Somaliland, were the citizens of this country seek to enlighten their minds after a dark civil war.

The University Of Hargeisa has the vision to “become a leading international center of educational excellence, which meets the nation’s immediate and long term goals for reconstruction and development” notice the last two components of our vision is reconstruction & development, this country has been through so much and as history will attest to it is much more difficult to reconstruct a country ravaged by war.

However both the government and its people has been working hard to rebuild not only their country but their minds, today the youth of this country work to innovate business, work and life, there are hundreds of youth groups out there some for literature, some for academia, some for community work, some for religious awareness and list goes on.

This university channels its teaching endeavors on not just educating but molding its student body into tomorrow’s professionals.

The world we live in today is very much different than that of ten years ago not centuries ago but ten years ago, economies are changing rabidly, the face of doing business is evolving with the advent of the internet, emerging economies are innovating faster than developed economies, climate is changing for the worst and today more than ever people are dropping out of higher education to seek better patterns of fulfilling their dreams.

The university of Hargeisa is faced with a challenge of serving as the beating heart for both the community and government and it has already overcame some parts of this challenge.
